Zimbabwe is sending a lean 15-member All-Africa Games athletic team to Algeria next week, but manager Selatiel Zangure says he hopes for gold, silver or bronze.

Zangure told reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye of VOA's Studio 7 for Zimbabwe that the squad brings together the finest athletes in the country.

The Zimbabwean contenders will have the added incentive of possibly finding a place on the Africa team for the Second Afro-Asian Games.

The second Afro-Asian Games will be held in Algiers from July 28 to August 6, right after the All-Africa Games, which begin July 13 and end on July 23.

The Afro-Asian Games will feature athletics, soccer, gymnastics, judo, shooting, weightlifting, tennis and swimming. Athletes placing in the top four in the finals of these disciplines will be drafted into the African team for the Afro-Asian Games.
