Have you ever had a DIY job on your hands and been totally frustrated by the power cord to your drill being too short, having to buy yet another extension cable? The cable getting tangled up or their not being a power point anywhere close enough to the job in hand?

Solution - Invest in a Cordless Power Tool

The times when cordless tools did not have the power of their mains electric counterparts are long gone. Modern battery technology has come on in leaps and bounds resulting in power output and time of use beyond anything available some years ago.

Modern advanced cordless power tools are capable of performing as well as, and in some cases better than their corded counterparts. New Cordless Saws and Cordless Drills can be used virtually anywhere and do not have the problems of corded tools. Finding outlets or having dangerous cords that can be cut, tangled, tripped on, or worse.

There are many Major Brands of Power Tools available - Cordless Drills, Cordless Saws, Cordless Vacuums, Cut off Tools, Screw guns, Power Rollers. Angle Grinders etc. There are a vast amount of choices in tools today. It would be impossible to list them all. But most forms of power tools are now available in a cordless version.

Of course all these tools rely on the power source used. This involves a number of decisions to be made before purchasing equipment.
Buyer Beware
The watchword is always purchase the “best” you can afford.
Always buy the largest power supply (Battery) you can afford.

There is nothing worse than buying equipment that is not up to the job in hand. It usually results in equipment failure due to over straining its capacity or quick battery drain just at the wrong time. Always buy more than one power cell. That way you can always keep one charging whilst using the other one.
You will have many choices to make re power - Batteries/Chargers, Alkaline/Rechargeable, Batteries 14.4V & Under, Batteries 18V & Up, Power Inverters, Paslode Fuel Cells in today’s tools.

Always take advice from the professional tradesmen if unsure what to buy. He has probably used a number of items in his career and he can steer you away from the unreliable equipment that will always be available at that “unbelievable price”

Or course it is not only power tools that are cordless these days. Many every day household power items are now available in a cordless form. Your home telephone or mobile being obvious examples

Modern Technology has come to help the DIY enthusiast – why not make use of it!
