Moong Dal Ka Halwa

Ingredient:    
300  Grams Green Gram (Split with Skin)

150  Grams Khoya

300  Grams Sugar

200  Grams  Ghee

10    Small Cardamoms (Powdered)

 ¼    Teaspoon Saffron Colour

 ¼    Tablespoon Pistachios (Chopped)

 ¼    Tablespoon Almonds (Chopped)

 1      Pinch Saffron Strands

         Dry Rose Petals

 


Method :


  • Soak green gram in water for 2 hours. Remove the skin and drain the water. Grind it in the mixer, without adding water.
  • Fry gram paste till golden brown in ghee.
  • Add khoya and cook for 10 minutes more.
  • On the other burner, boil sugar in 3 cups water switch off the gas when it forms ½ thread consistency.
  • Mix saffron strands and the colour properly in the sugar syrup.
  • Now add this to the green gram paste and keep stirring continuously. Add the cardamom powder and mix well.
  • Stir till the mixture leaves the sides of the kadai and the ghee separates. Switch off the gas.
  • Transfer into a serving dish. Garnish with almonds, pistachios and dry rose petals.
