Do Men Need to Connect Conversation with Physical Activity to Get Excited about the Topic?

Running and operating an Online Think Tank is a way out endeavor and you just never know what subjects, topics, technologies or concepts will come up next. While debating topics of interest one participant noted that men and women enjoy the intellectual conversations differently.

The University of Colorado Law Student noted that men will often find the need to connect the conversation with some sort of physical activity such as sports to be fulfilled, while women just enjoy pleasant agreeable conversations.

This is indeed an interesting point and well lets say that this is partly true and it maybe. If when talking about concepts, a human man, would have difficulty in that case because they are not excited to stay on subject. But we know that for spatial reasoning men tend to be very good at this type of thought. So, wouldn't that in fact dismiss some of this contention?

We all know that when talking with men, we often see the bragging issues as they attempt to "one-ups-man-ship" the other and often discuss physical activity or even their Glory Days. Of course men in human societies are conditioned socially to do this, competition. You know like "Alpha Male" syndrome if you will. It is rather hilarious to listen to their spiel? What's the use, but they seem to like it.

Moreover, many observers of these escapades lament, observe and often find it fascinating how all the stories begin to seem the same and thus that turns off the conversation, not enhancing it. You know what is really interesting about sports, is that when you are the best at them, you no longer want to talk about them.

You do not really want to watch others play them even anymore. But so few ever make it to the top, so they "glory days" their conversations to death. You know it is kind of fun to sit and listen to a bunch of guys talk about sports, that they cannot play, due to fatness, lack of agility or intenseness and they will sit and stuff their faces with chips, beer and crap talking about other people who play sports? Perhaps, if they would stop that behavior and focus they may have been able to be on that field themselves?

Nevertheless, at the Online Think Tank generally this is not the case, although obviously there is some high testosterone conversations at times, it is an all comers sort of thing and many women also enjoy the intellectual thought process even when the men, challenge one another, their concepts and pit them against the reality of free markets or against another option. Perhaps this article might propel thought in 2007.
