Heat ghee in a kadai and add gram flour. Cook on a low flame for 1 hour continuously
Saatu
Servings : 25 pieces
Cooking  Time : 90 minutes
 
 
Ingredients:  
   ½       Kg gram flour
300      Grams powder sugar
300      Grams   ghee
    2       Tablespoons edible gum (finely ground)
   ¼       Cup chopped almond-pistachios 
    1       Pinch saffron strands (melted)
                       
                       
     

Method :
 
  • Heat ghee in a kadai and add gram flour. Cook on a low flame for 1 hour continuously.
  • Add gum and after 2 minutes, switch off the gas.
  • When the flour cools, add sugar and mix thoroughly.
  • Make about 25 balls of the dough, flatten it from one side like a semicircle.
  • Press in some saffron, almond, and pistachios on the center of each balls.
  • Do this with the remaining balls. Saatu is ready to be served.
                       
                  Note : Edible gum is also known as guar gum or gaund.
